HR Manager

The role

• Lead culture and engagement initiatives across the organisation, creating fun, meaningful ways for staff to stay engaged and feel valued.

• Champion wellbeing and foster an environment where staff feel safe, supported, and appreciated.

• Guide leaders in coaching, feedback, and people development.

• Support managers as a trusted HR partner, helping them navigate ER issues confidently and constructively.

• Lead recruitment and onboarding that reflects our values and culture.

• Develop and implement HR strategy that supports our growth and organisational goals.

• Keep HR systems and processes running smoothly and efficiently, ensuring compliance with employment law, privacy, and health & safety regulations.

• Embed Te Tiriti o Waitangi values into everyday HR practice.

Your profile

• Strong HR generalist experience.

• Experience supporting and connecting a geographically dispersed and remote workforce.

• A passion for culture, inclusion, and supporting people to flourish.

• Confidence with HR systems and Microsoft Office.

• Experience in managing ER processes.

• Knowledge of NZ employment law and compliance obligations (privacy, health & safety, employment legislation).

• A proactive, calm presence who builds trusted relationships.

• Integrity, kindness, a sense of humour, and a genuine commitment to people.

• Lived experience or genuine allyship with disabled communities and understanding of accessibility and inclusion.

• Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and commitment to embedding them meaningfully in HR practice.

• Emotional intelligence and ability to handle sensitive conversations with empathy while maintaining professional boundaries.

• Experience with performance management, talent development, and building capability in teams.

This is a 40 hour a week role. It is office based - we have a lovely office in Sydenham, with car parking. You can find a job description HERE
